Status of Rural Development  schemes in Dantewada district

(1) Name of the Scheme: IRDP/SGSY

INTEGRATED RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (IRDP):

    The motive of this scheme is to uplift the people living below the poverty line. Govt. Provides economical assistance as well as loans to the rural poor people, so that they come over the poverty line. The beneficiaries of this scheme may start their own business or any other means to become self employed. Govtt. provides a subsidy amount of Rs. 7500/- (Maximum) or 50% of the loan  amount whichever is less.

SWARNA JAYANTI GRAM SWAROZGAR YOJANA (SGSY):

        SGSY is the modified verssion of IRDP scheme, and it is being implemented from 1.4.1999. Various groups are formed each groups consisting of a minimum 10 persons. These Groups are motivated to save from their earnings, the money thus saved by the total members of the group is rotated among the members of the group as and when any need arises. Person who takes such money for his personal need (among the group) shall be charged a sum as interest, as decided by the members which'll be deposited back into the savings of that group. After six months of forming such a group a revolving fund of Rs. 10,000/- shall be released by the Zila Panchayat, and Rs. 15000/- as loan from te banks to the group. The groups are thus expected to start any business to improve their finaancial status.

(2) Name of the Scheme :  EAS

EMPLOYMENT ASSURANCE SCHEME :     

        This scheme is mainly intended at stopping the float of the villagers for want of jobs to different places, by ensuring employment at their pwn village level. The Govt. has assured employment for them in different construction/repairing activities such as roads, buildings, bridges, tanks etc. This Scheme is operational since 02.10.1993.

(3) Name of the Scheme : JRY

JAWAHAR   ROZGAR  YOJANA :

         The Govt. provides funds to the village panchayats for  developing the infrastructure of the villages such as   Santitation , Drinking Water,  Electrification, Approach Roads etc.The funds are distributed directly to the village panchayats by the Zila Panchayat.

(4) Name of the Scheme : NATIONAL OLD AGE PENSION

        Motive of this scheme is to help the old people who attained the age of 65 years. The Govt. helps them by providing Rs. 150/- per month to those old people coming under poverty line.

(5) Name of the Scheme : NATIONAL FAMILY BENEFIT SCHEME

        The scheme has been introduced to assist the families living under poverty line. The dependents of the family shall be provided a financial assistance of Rupees 10,000 /- on the death of the earning person of the family.

(6) Name of the Scheme :  BALIKA SAMRUDHI YOJANA

         Announced on 15th August 1997 by the Prime Minister of India, this scheme is being implemented in the state since 2nd October 1997. Intension of the scheme is to eliminate the negative approach of society towards the female child and the mother who deliver such a child.An amount of Rs. 500/- shall be deposited in the nearest bank or post office   as a   joint account between the child and the executing agency which shall be matured after 18 years.

(7) Name of the Scheme: NATIONAL MATERNITY BENEFIT SCHEME

        Implemented through out the state from 15th August 1995, this scheme helps the pregnant women aged above 19 years and  living below the poverty line. A sum of Rs. 500/- is given to the pregnant lady as medical assistance. A women can avail this facility for her first two deliveries.

(8) Name of the Scheme : INDIRA AWAS YOJNA

        Providing of a shelter to the homeless rural people living under poverty line is the main intension of this scheme. An amount of Rs. 20,000/- is released under this scheme to the beneficary in which Rs. 15,000/- is provided for the construction of the house and  remaining Rs. 5,000/- is given for necessary infratructural works such as smoke less chulha, and lavetory facilities. While selecting the beneficiaries, the Gram Panchayat shall give preference to the liberated bonded labourers,
